Raksha Shukla
The one who epitomises endurance
“It’s only when you step out of your comfort zone that real progress takes place” says Raksha Shukla, Business Manager, Redefine Marcom Pvt. Ltd. “I was bitten by an entrepreneurship bug while growing up and I never dreamt of working in a corporate set-up until my internship with Red FM kindled my interest in live events. And, my fascination towards events was so intense that I actually ended up pursuing post-graduation in events”.
Raksha went on to work with renowned magazines such as Bureaucracy Today and IBM Biz before joining Redefine Marcom in 2015. “My curiosity to work in an environment which offered tremendous avenues for learning and growth brought me to Redefine. I have a quaint eagerness to learn everyday whether at work, at home, or at any other place and Redefine feeds the inquisitive being in me perfectly.”
“I have been immensely fortunate to have had the backing of Sandipan sir and Shaan (her manager) in every task that I took up. They have been my mentors at work, stressing on the areas I needed to improve upon and encouraging me to venture beyond my self-perceived abilities”, says Raksha, brimming with confidence. “What connects me to Redefine is the emotional touch at work. Praveen, Payal and Rohan (her colleagues) are very cordial and supportive. Bablu (member of operations team) is the pillar for completing the work with all the logistical support that he provides.”
Commending her husband for his unfailing support, Raksha says “I am grateful to my stars for blessing me with a partner who is a feminist in true spirit, who never imposes socially constructed gender-specific norms on me, who understands my job requirements and ungrudgingly waits for me to return home every single day. All thanks to him, I have never made the kind of sacrifices that a working married women would otherwise make”.
While most of us often have a rulebook that we so religiously follow, Raksha opines that she does not believe in functioning within the constraints of some self-imposed mantra. “Contentment is what I value and prioritise the most in my life. And, I embrace whatever gives me joy”.
