Watering the Seeds of Progress!
2019 is already proving to be an exciting year for us characterised by many opportunities for genuine collaboration and substantive discussions that will create the momentum needed to drive progress. The latest highlight in our growth story is our association with two new clients- Salesforce and Google that we seek to realise most meaningfully in the context of our existing focus.
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish all phenomenal women out there a very Happy Women’s Day! At Redefine, we firmly believe in gender equality and I am immensely proud to be able to say that we have a majority of females working with us, in every department and at all levels. We have collated a video titled #RedefiningHalf to give you a sneak peek into the gender-inclusive workplace that Redefine is.
Forging a gender-free workplace is both our responsibility and commitment. We also acknowledge the fact that India has one of the largest opportunities in the world to boost its GDP by 18% by advancing gender equality. In the pursuit of our aim to unlock the power of parity, we have set targets for our HR department and top management to promote gender diversity by resorting to gender-based talent pipeline planning.
In 2018, we implemented Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) at Workplace policy and ensured training of all employees and ICC members commensurate with the requirements of the policy to eliminate even the slightest possibility of sexual harassment at Redefine.
In order to turn challenges into opportunities for women, we critically evaluate and implement dynamics that favour women employees such as equal pay for equal work and combatting of conscious and unconscious bias in the HR processes- from recruitment to performance appraisal. We also offer and encourage flexible working arrangements such as work from home and government sanctioned maternity leaves for female employees supported by technology such as videoconferencing.
We also endeavour to help our female employees cultivate three crucial skills- technological, social, emotional and higher cognitive skills through mentorship programmes and training sessions to enable them to capture their fair share of leadership positions.
Building a happy female workforce is one of our key priorities and I hope and wish that you are also doing a great deal in making your organisation more gender-inclusive.
Best regards,
Sandipan Ray
